Übermensch

Picture something grander than a caped hero soaring across the sky. The true essence of “Superman” comes from Friedrich Nietzsche—a German philosopher who, in the late 1800s, stunned the world by proclaiming “God is Dead.” In his work Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Nietzsche introduced the Übermensch: a bold vision of a human being who forges his own values, free from the moral shackles that society or religion try to impose. The Übermensch is the ultimate symbol of self-determination. Übermensch is Superman. He refuses to accept any pre-packaged rules on how to live. Instead, he sculpts his own principles and never allows beliefs handed down at birth to chain his mind. He stands as a breathtaking ideal, urging us all to rise above the stale notions of “good” and “evil” and embrace the courage to shape our own destinies. Fear, loneliness, pain, and risk aren’t roadblocks; they become fuel for growth. Nietzsche painted a picture of a person so powerful in spirit that when the storms of life ra...

It's a Messi Situation

Hola, fútbol fanáticos! It's been almost a year and a half since I last put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard?) to wax lyrical about this beautiful game that captivates the world. I've just been busy doing the Leo Messi Shuffle - simultaneously trying to pick my jaw up off the floor and keep my head from exploding with disbelief and euphoria. But this time, the man carried an unwavering determination - a quiet promise to h...

22nd Nov, 2022: Messi plays the first of his last.

This is a small piece for Messi fans, which I wrote when Argentina was knocked out by Brazil in the R016 of World Cup, 2018. And today 22nd Nov 2022. Argentina leaded by Messi will play their first match of this edition.  It was the 14th of July 2014 when Argentina played that world cup final. Led by Alejandro Sabella, the albicelestes were in scintillating form but the opponents were mighty Germans I remember asking my dad to wake me up when the match starts, I was just 14 at that time. But somehow my dad didn't have to wake me up, I woke up myself 5 minutes before the match, and such was my love for Argentina and Messi. I don't exactly remember the specifics of that match but I remember the gotze goal in the 113th minute that made Germany the world champions. At 14, I first realized what true heartbreak was like. For a moment you feel like being choked, you can't breathe and the tears won't stop. I had never felt sadder. The year passed and in the following years ...
